“Getting to do the kayak course instead of the swim was great! I will definitely choose that option again!” – C. Crivane
If you don’t swim or you’d prefer to kayak/stand up paddle board, you can substitute the swim portion of the triathlon with a paddle. The course tours Morro Bay in clockwise direction. The course and turns are clearly marked with buoys. The paddle starts and ends at Coleman Beach, next to Coleman Park.
Ocean sit-on-tops, touring kayaks, surf skis, and stand up paddle boards are all welcome.
The paddle option will be divided between Kayaks and SUP
The Olympic course is 3 miles.
The Sprint course is 1.5 miles.
You will be in a separate category from the other triathletes if you choose the paddle option.
A wetsuit is not mandatory for this division, but you will need to wear a life jacket.
This is a non-drafting race. If we see you or someone reports you doing so, we will add 1/2 hour to your time, no questions asked.
